ProInvent’s Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

ProInvent has been committed to the United Nation’s Global Compact for years, and we contribute to relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals. We do this by empowering people, acting respectfully, and minimizing our footprint.

ProInvent’s prioritization of sustainability is anchored in the Board, in the Leadership team and it is reflected in the technologies we work with as well as in the solutions we supply. By providing our customers with products and solutions with the newest technology, we contribute to the increased efficiency and sustainability of our customers’ business.

At ProInvent we actively support the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
We are working on devising a solution to help customers keep track of their resource use at each step of the manufacturing process, which will eventually enable them to optimize around specific Sustainable Development Goals indicators.

To be able to create a better future for the coming generations, the whole ProInvent believes that goals are important. However, we have focused our efforts in 4 areas, where we believe that we can truly make a difference by applying innovative and new ways of thinking and working.

Goal 4

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

As mentioned in goal 4, investing in education is essential for developing a skilled workforce for the future and improving growth. ProInvent’s employees are highly educated specialists, most of them with engineering experience, and we need to employ experienced top talents as it is essential in order to be successful in what we do; and this is what most companies always do as the easiest. But at ProInvent our publicity is to employ a couple of newly graduated engineers every year.

At ProInvent we also continuously have apprentice and adult apprentice as automation technician, mechanical technicians and fitters. We push non educated people to make a change in life as apprentice or adult apprentice as e.g. automation technician at ProInvent, and here they get the opportunity to work with the entire palette of automation. Initially they will work with focus on the practical part of the education but design and programming will also become a big part of their everyday life.

It is ProInvent’s goal that there is always a place for a disabled person working in the workshop and who helps in the office as well.

Goal 5

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Gender equality and women’s empowerment have advanced in recent decades, and ProInvent is promoting that because it remains a persistent challenge worldwide and the lack of such equality is a major obstacle to sustainable development.

ProInvent businesses stand to benefit from greater equality for women.

We establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality and treats all women and men fairly at work – respect and support human rights and non-discrimination.

ProInvent ensures the health, safety and well-being of all women and men workers and promotes education, training and professional development for women.

We do measure and publicly report in every annual report on progress to achieve gender equality.

Goal 9

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

At ProInvent we promote technologies that reduce the power and energy consumption at our customers’ facilities e. g. by offering servo systems or electrical motors instead of pneumatics to our customers. Air/pneumatics is one of the primary energy consumers and causes major losses, so using electric actuators is often more sustainable. The electric actuators are often more expensive to acquire, so the price of the machine will be higher, but since the operating costs are lower, it can also be the cheapest solution for the customer, as seen over the life of the machine. ProInvent has prepared a comparison table for some different variations of components so in the future, it will be easier for us to recommend solutions to the customer when we look at all phases of a project: mechanical design, electrical design, programming, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, commissioning and production. In addition to sustainability, there can also be functional gains when using electric actuators.

We protect the environment while we carry out our projects, e.g., we recycle plastic materials while running-in machines at our workshop, and send used components for recycling. By automating production lines and making manufacturing processes more efficient, we contribute to a more sustainable manufacturing industry, where resources are used more efficiently. Waste of basic material is minimized by intelligent systems and less energy is used to produce the same capacity. Our automation projects create a healthy working environment as well as freeing employees from monotonous work to more valuable tasks.

Goal 12

Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

As part of our efforts to create a more sustainable world, we only work for responsible companies, work actively with our own processes and put these requirements on suppliers.
